As in previous years, for 2025-26 we will again meet very fourth Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom. Exceptions usually occur in December (lunch in a restaurant a week earlier) and June (lunch in a restaurant a week earlier).
We have about 20 fairly active members, and because we meet on Zoom, Snowbirds are able to join in during the winter months.
Although one of our members (usually the one who has recommended the book) presents information about the book of that month and leads the discussion, the meetings are informal.
In June members suggest books for next year — books that they have enjoyed reading themselves and that they feel will result in a lively discussion. Members will then take a couple of weeks to check reviews and then vote by email for the books they would like to read.
The first photo below was taken at Average Joe’s during the December 16, 2025, lunch meeting. The screen shot that follows shows those present at the November 2024 Zoom meeting when members talked about the autobiographies, memories, and biographies they had chosen to read. Here is a list of the books chosen and discussed: book list. The photo beside it is of our May 2025 meeting at the home of Heli Vail. The last photo is of members meeting at Average Joe’s in June 2025 to suggest books for 2025-26.
